About the Achievements through Education Awards

The LNESC Breakfast: Achievements through Education Awards event will be held during the LULAC National Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the achievements of former and current students that participated in LNESC programs and services. The focus will be on participants that have demonstrated academic and professional successes, as well as to acknowledge those who have given back to their communities. The setting will be a vibrant, and energetic event with live music, a presentation of awards and an opportunity to engage with young future leaders within the LNESC network.

 

LNESC invites you to support this event in celebration of the impacts of education on aspiring students. This event will highlight how students and their families benefit from collaborations between grassroots organizations and corporate entities.

Award Categories

Exemplary Service Award
: Current or former participant that has consistently taken time out of their personal lives in order to volunteer for LNESC or performed in another service capacity. The volunteer has had a positive role within the community, and serves as a role model to students. 

 

 

Light of Inspiration Award: Educator/Counselor/Advisor who has had positive impact on LNESC participants. This individual continuously recruits students to LNESC and supports LNESC programs and initiatives. This individual has inspired participants to succeed, not just academically, but also personally and professionally.

 

Aspiring Scholar Award: Scholarship recipient currently enrolled in college who has exceeded academically and has demonstrated success in their educational pursuits. This individual expresses the promotion of scholarly achievement, and is an excellent example of an outstanding leader and role model for peers. 

 

Puras Ganas AwardHigh school student participant who has made dramatic improvement and shown outstanding academic performance, despite personal obstacles. This individual has overcome barriers to succeed in their scholastic, personal and professional life.

 

Alumni Legacy Award: Former LNESC participant that has graduated college or currently a working professional in any field. Alumnus demonstrates personal and professional success based on their scholastic ambitions, and has an active role in servicing their community, that has led to positive changes.

 

LNESC Youth Leadership Banquet

Tentative fall 2022
Previously hosted during the Washington Youth Leadership Seminar (WYLS), the LNESC Youth Leadership Banquet focuses on highlighting program participants and the potential they represent as future leaders in their communities. The evening provides a unique opportunity for program partners to engage with student leaders while creating opportunities to share their professional experience and career backgrounds. Proceeds from this fundraiser support the LULAC National Scholarship Fund.

The LNESC Youth Leadership Banquet may return in fall 2022, pending updates around health and safety. More details will be provided on this page at a later date.
